With expectations high for the growth of e-commerce during the 2006 Christmas period, Dreamteam Design has surveyed e-commerce businesses using their e-commerce software and report average revenue growth of 23% during November and December 2006 when compared to the same period in 2005. It was also reported that the average volume of transactions for each e-commerce business has increased by 26% from 2005.
Andy Walker, Sales Director for EROL said that Dreamteam Design had seen a ‘big increase in the number of new businesses starting online in 2006, coupled with more and more High Street retailers looking for additional revenue streams for their existing businesses.’
He added ‘Results from a customer survey actioned in December suggest that 2007 will see an even larger increase in the number of small-medium businesses and retailers making use of e-commerce to sell products and services online. It’s another very exciting year ahead for us.’
It is generally accepted looking at most polls that both e-commerce Vendors and Retailers are expecting the Internet to provide the largest growth area again in 2007.
